Comings and goings – 3/24/24

Feel free to call re: status on any favorite you are looking for.

Only a very few specialty Tea Calendar flavors are still available to purchase.

NOTICE – There are a number of teas that are now in “Special Order” status, so that I can still make a wider variation of flavors available to you without having to sit on so much stock for slower moving varie-teas. A current listing can be found HERE or call the shop about any teas you are not seeing that you have enjoyed in the past if you do not see it on this list.

When one or two of you special order a tea (minimum 4oz, prepayment required, 10% discount for 8oz or more), the extra will be showing up in this new website category for “Seasonal and Limited stock”

Link to the section on the shopping webpage for Seasonal and Limited stock teas – it’s at the top of the list for you. This section is also where you will find access to remaining stock of limited edition Calendar teas for 2023.

Seasonal & Limited Stock Teas

If you want quick access straight to the shopping – or to pre-order drinks – get there via travtea.net [Square may even prompt you if you’d like to add an icon app on your phone]

Teas may go out of stock or disappear from the website though we may have a few packages still left in shop. I “hide” it when we have all tea packaged and less than 4oz left in the canister. Please call or email if you don’t see what you are looking for.

This page is a reference point in lieu of lots of emails (that you don’t want and I don’t have time to make).

You are always welcome to call the shop at 314 647-8832 (TTEA) for inquiries, help, or the latest status on any tea.

Vegan Momo Cocoa mixes – Only 2 or 3 Mexican spiced packages still available

Dark Tea/Puerh – We still have Dark Rose Hearts and are researching options for more Dark and Puerh teas. Looseleaf ripe (shou) puerh is currently in stock.

Black tea news: Seasonal Cherry Jerry is still in stock for now. We also still have Rose Chai (first offered last year). New: Buckingham Palace Garden Blend, and Peaches & Cream (both not organic) have been brought in by Special Order. These were teas were popular in Queen’s Cuisine Tea Room (Edwardsville IL) until she closed. Now is your opportunity to try them in small (or large) quantities thanks to your fellow tea enthusiasts. We’re trying a run for Chaga Mushroom Chai (due to great enthusiasm from our newest employee, PJ, upon tasting a sample)! Crossbones is low stock at the moment and we probably will not get more until October/November unless you place a Special Order (4oz minimum).

Last, but not least, in new black tea offerings is Everest, from Nepal. This stunning black tea is grown and made by the Sherpa community in the highest tea garden in the world, in Solukhumbu Nepal near Mt Everest

Tea Maker: Janaki Khadka

I will be restocking our current options of London Tea Room blends within the next 7-10 days. If you ever want a specific blend from them, please let us know. We still have some 5th of November and Parisian Breakfast available in trial sizes.

Green/White/Oolong Teas: Cherry Blossom Time is pulled from the online menu as we only have a few packages left. Tangerine Lemongrass Green was special ordered so we have a little more than 1 pound available right now. Japan: Sencha Haru Midori – extremely limited stock. Our sencha variety (always organic) can change each time we order, depending upon what is seasonally available. We try to keep staff fave Kabusecha in good stock when possible. We are currently out of Genmaicha – this special-tea does not require prepaid/pre-order, but we do like to know there is active interest before we bring more in; tell us to write down your name and contact phone if you are looking for this one. Gyukoro is almost gone and must be special ordered to bring any more in. Zhushan Oolong brought in by Special Order so we are stocked at the moment.

We found ready access to a small quantity of an organic version of Mango Pear White elsewhere since the costs are prohibitive from our regular vendor. We are selling it side-by-side with the non-organic version – make sure you are getting the version you are paying for as the prices are slightly different.

Re: unflavored white teas – We found an impressive Silver Needle and are excited to be able to offer this one to you finally! Pai Mu Tan is in stock as an affordable everyday white with mild honey notes.

Herbal Tisanes & Decaf teas: Not a lot new here right now. Cherry Berry Tisane will be coming sometime in late April, based on a pre-order but if you want to be sure to get the quantity you want please call us to get your order in as well.

If you have ever enjoyed a Japanese Barley tea (Mugicha) do give Sobacha a try. Sobacha is roasted buckwheat from Hokkaido Japan (most commercially available buckwheat comes from China). It has an amazing satisfying flavor – and can be eaten too, added to porridge or salads, or as a crispy ice cream topping! We have low-risk single serving packets available to try it. It is Especially nice for satisfying some food cravings with zero calories. This version tests out to be higher in vitamin B1 and rutin [anti-inflammatory].

?

Prepared Drinks to-go category: Peppermint powder – pure organic peppermint finely milled to matcha consistency. We can add it to chocolate based milk teas (if you are craving Dark Chocolate Mint), or matcha (try Vanilla Mint matcha while you can!), … the only limit is your imagination.

Your feedback helps me to know which teas to keep carrying. When I run out of a slow mover I hold off on re-ordering unless I KNOW there is real interest. I have to make choices with how I spend the money you invest in our business. Are you missing your favorites? Tell us! (make sure my staff writes me a note about it – or email info @ traveling-tea.com)
